EDUCATION:

Bill graduated from
Texas Tech University with a
Bachelor of Architecture with Design Option in the year
1970.

Bill's professional career began in 1969 as an employee
in the office of the Campus Planning Committee
Coordinator at
Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas.  
Bill's responsibilities included campus planning,
remodeling design and remodeling construction
supervision.  Bill worked in all aspects of design,
production and supervision of assigned projects as an
employee of Schmidt-Tisdel and Associates, Architects
and Engineers, Lubbock, Texas, from 1971-1974.

In 1974, upon becoming a Registered Architect in the
State of Texas, Bill with Berwyn Tisdel, established the
firm of Tisdel and Adling Architects and Engineers,
where he served as Partner in Charge on many projects.  
Bill established the present firm of ADLING ASSOCIATES
Architects in 1983.  With an artist's eye for clarity of
detail, Bill continues to enjoy all aspects of architectural
design with a special emphasis on exterior design and
accessibility design for persons with disabilities, as well
as designing for historical integrity.

In 1992, the Architectural Barriers Advisory Committee,
Texas State Department of Licensing and Regulation,
was formed to bring the State of Texas into compliance
with The Americans with Disabilities Act.  Bill was
instrumental in the development and production of the
Texas Accessibility Standards, serving on the Committee
from 1992 through 1999, chairing the Committee in 1998
and 1999.
